Physical Therapy
Physical therapists can help patients increase and maintain muscle strength and endurance, restore range of motion and improve coordination and balance. Therapists also work with individuals to help reduce pain and muscle spasms and decrease swelling of joints. They promote healing for those recovering from surgery or from orthopedic or neurological conditions by providing:
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Injury recovery (sports, work-related and more)
- Balance and coordination improvement
- Pain management (including back, neck and joint pain)
- Mobility and gait training
- Strengthening exercises
- Fall prevention programs
- Differential diagnosis and conservative management of spine, upper/lower extremity injuries
- Orthopedic rehab
- Post-surgical rehab for joint replacement and spinal surgeries
- Neurological rehab for balance deficits, stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury and multiple sclerosis
- Vestibular rehab
- LSVT BIG-certified clinicians for Parkinson’s disease specialty care
- Amputee and limb loss rehab
We offer direct access, which allows you to see a physical therapist immediately so you can get the care you need right away. Most health insurance covers physical therapy obtained through direct access.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists focus on upper-extremity injuries to reduce pain and improve range of motion, strength and coordination of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. Occupational therapy services are available for upper-extremity orthopedic conditions, neurological conditions and pediatric rehabilitation. Therapists educate patients and family members, and provide therapies such as:
- Assistance with daily living activities (dressing, bathing, etc.)
- Adaptive equipment training
- Upper body strength and coordination
- Hand therapy (fine motor skills, dexterity)
- Upper limb rehab including shoulder, elbow and hand/wrist injuries
- Home safety evaluations
- Cognitive rehabilitation
- Energy conservation techniques
- Lymphedema rehab
Speech Therapy
Speech language pathologists (sometimes called speech therapists) diagnose and treat communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults who may be unable to speak or have rhythm and fluency problems, such as stuttering. When necessary, they can use modified barium swallow studies to aid in the diagnosis of various conditions.
Children's Therapy Services
We are committed to helping children achieve developmental milestones and lead full, active lives. Pediatric specialists offer:
- Physical therapy for orthopedics and motor milestone delay
- Occupational therapy for fine motor skills and sensory integration
- Speech therapy for language, communication and speech development
